Central Bedfordshire Council manages our admissions arrangements. If you would like to enquire about sending your child to our school (as an in year admission) please contact them in the first instance to find out more about what is required.
If you want to find out more about the school before applying for a place, then please contact us directly to arrange a tour of the school.
Further details of our admission arrangements can be found on Central Bedfordshire's Website below.
Thank you for getting in touch and considering The Mary Bassett Lower School as the start of your child’s school journey. We believe it is most important for parents and carers to make a sound decision about a school place for their child and this requires preparation towards identifying your preferred school(s).
We are incredibly proud of the work governors and staff have done to make our school an authentic representation of our vision. We value the opportunity to support young children to embark on an exciting journey of learning that will positively impact their educational journey, including most importantly their sense of identity and long-term fulfilment.
COVID-19 PROTOCOLS: You will be very aware that schools are currently having to adhere to strict protocols to ensure the safe education of children presently in school; this means we cannot invite you in during the school day in order for you to see what our ethos looks like in practice. We would, however, like to invite you to meet with us after the children have finished school at the end of the day if this would help you make a decision about a school choice.
GETTING A FEEL FOR WHAT WE DO: We would encourage you to spend some time looking at our school Website as a starting point. In preparation for our current Reception children starting school we collated a wide range of resources that we think will be helpful to you also. These can be found here: https://www.marybassett.co.uk/starting-school-2020/
BOOKING A MEETING / SITE TOUR / TELEPHONE CHAT: Although we will not be able to visit everywhere in the school, a site tour will provide you with some understanding about how we make use of our special environments for learning and play. Having the opportunity to meet with us or talk on the telephone will also provide you with an opportunity to ask any specific questions you have.
If there is anything else we can do, please just ask. You can contact us via the Front Desk (01525) 373017 or email@example.com
The circumstances are not ideal but life will continue and your child still deserves a school placement that you are delighted with!
