Welcome to Year R
We will enjoy welcoming and getting to know your children over the first few weeks. They are starting the term by exploring the new environment and learning the routines. The children are able to access both classrooms, the creative area and the garden for the majority of the day, this gives them the opportunity to see old friends and make new ones.
Our ‘All About Me' theme
We want to get to know your children and how they work! We have been exploring the children's treasure boxes they made over the holidays (Thank you!) which has helped us to get to know them better. We will be exploring more information about them as the weeks go on. Keep an eye in the book bag for their home learning task so you can get directly involved.
Our 'People Who Help Us' theme
We will be looking at the wider world around us and looking at who helps us. We will be meeting lots of people who have very important jobs. We will even be having our very own dress up day focussing on the children's wishes and aspirations for the future. We want to know what they want to be when they're older! Toward the end of the term we will be celebrating Christmas and performing a Nativity play called: 'The Sleepy Shepherd'.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
