When you first login you will see this menu by tapping the three lines in the top right hand corner.
Observations appear in the background when they are uploaded.
If you have more than one child using EYLog, you will be able to access both learning journeys in one place. Each observation will list who the observation is about.
Here is a brief summary of each sub heading:
See what is new since your last visit.
See your child's full learning journey and select a date to revisit.
You will also see any observations you have made when they have been approved by school staff.
If your child has needed additional support toileting/eating or if we have tried to contact you, you will find the note in here. This will only be updated if we have had to help your child change clothes or if you have requested specific support when eating.
Currently not in use.
You will receive letters from the school via your email, we can also upload them here.
In Reception, we will upload the Home Learning here each week.
Reports, Accident/Incident Sheets, Medicine Forms.
Currently not in use.
You can order professional portraits/cards etc from EYLog using the photos in the learning journey.
When a new observation is uploaded by staff, you will receive a notification to your registered device similar to the picture.
This will include the child the observation is for and the first line of the observation.
You will also receive an email.
These notifications can be turned off/on in your personal settings. We advise that you keep notifications on to stay as upto date as possible with your child's learning.
The observation will appear like this in the Learning Journey. It will include details of the staff member completing the observation, date and time.
You have the opportunity to 'love' or 'comment' on each observation.
As parents, you can add as many family/friends as you like to view your child's profile. Please let us know their name and email address. These users will also be able to comment, love and download the observations.
View your own observations under the 'My Observations' tab. We love to hear about the amazing things you are getting upto at home! Some Home Learning tasks may also require you to upload something each week.
To add an observation, tap the plus icon in the top right of the screen.
Here you can type up what you would like to tell us about, take a picture, record video or access your device's photo/video gallery.
The app may prompt you to allow access.
When staff members have seen the observation and shared it in class, they will publish it to the learning journey with a response.
If there is a Diary entry it will appear like this. There are three drop down boxes.
We can inform you if we have needed to change your child's clothes.
If you have requested support, we can monitor your how much your child has eaten.
Any other notes will also appear in this section, however if there is an issue we would like to discuss we will try and do this in person/contact you directly.
At the end of the school year, you will have the chance to download your child's learning journey and keep it. There is no charge for this service.
When your child leaves the setting your account will become inactive but you will have a year to download your child's learning journey before it is removed from the system.
Additionaly; EYLog enables you to create a variety of items using the photos from your child's learning journey.
These come at an additional cost. This is not managed or organised by The Mary Bassett Lower School.
