Essential Equipment
Book Bags
All children need a named book/school bag to keep their belongings in and for safely bringing letters or reading books home.
Water Bottles
It is essential that your child has a named water bottle in school every day to keep them hydrated and healthy. It would be great if the bottle was one with a sports cap to minimise spillages.
Dress appropriate for the weather
Children access learning, play and exercise in a range of learning environments, both outside and inside the classroom throughout the year. It is essential that children have clothing that is appropriate to the weather conditions of the season so that they are able to participate comfortably in activities. This may include a waterproof and warm coat as well as jumper/cardigan, hat and gloves on colder days, a waterproof coat and wellies on wet days and a sunhat on hot days.
PE/Games
Lessons will take place throughout the year, even in inclement weather. Your child will need an indoor PE kit consisting of shorts and a green PE t shirt. They will also need an outdoor games kit made up of trainers, tracksuit bottoms and a sweat shirt. Children will be required to remove any jewellery for PE by themselves, including earrings. It is advised that children do not wear jewellery to school on PE days.
Year 3 PE days - Monday and Wednesday (However, PE kits should be in school everyday).
Please make sure all kit is clearly labelled with your child’s name and in school, in a clearly named bag, at all times!
Swimming Lessons
During the Summer term the children usually access swimming lessons as part of the compulsory PE curriculum. At this time, children will need a swimming hat, one piece swimming costume/fitting trunks. Children will also require goggles as instructed by the swimming teacher. A letter will be sent to you closer to the time should these lessons go ahead this academic year.
